  • Air hose in workshop downstairs is broken. Tim M is picking up a part to fix it.
  • Laser cutter pile is still looming. Brad et al. will be tidying it up.
  • KYOSS will actually meet next on 10/9. The program is undecided so far.
  • Alex Boreski (spelling?) will be leading a new Javascript users' group tomorrow (Sep 18) (see calendar)
  • This Friday, the movie will be "Bag of Bones." Find the hidden LVL1-member facsimile in the movie! Be at the space to order pizza & for open build.
  • The New Cavers Meetup is for anyone interested in wild caving. Stop by to learn more!
  • Derbycon doesn't need any more LVL1 volunteers. No after-party this year, after all.
  • The Saturday of Derbycon, Mini Makerfaire needs LVL1 volunteers to show projects and man the booth! Please stop by and tell everyone.
    • LVL1 also needs volunteers for Fox in the Morning, so if you have something to show off, let Brad know.
  • Brian W showed off his awesome custom Sumobot PCB. The workshop will be on 10/4 from 7 pm to 9 pm or 10 pm. Cost will be around $50 to $60. The Sumo contest will coincide with the Halloween season.
  • Dress up for the Sumobot tournament, the Saturday right before Halloween! Kit-based bots and homebrew bots alike are welcome.

  • On Friday, 20 Sep, the Urban Design Studio will be celebrating parks and open spaces. LVL1 will be represented on the Belvedere.

Projects from the Roll Call

  • Jose won the Raspi hackathon, with the Gruntmaster 6000. A mindwave headset and a screen force users to concentrate, and the setup takes their picture for posterity.
    • Other entrants included a mesh network for the Internet of Things, cheap backup camera, and automated sorting conveyor.
    • Thanks ShareLab!
  • Joseph hosted a workshop where girls built a geodesic dome from 3D printed hubs. Look for it at Maker Faire!
  • Check out the LVL1 participation in FlugTag! Watch members jump off a cliff into a lake ("flying")!
  • Bluegrass e-cycle (and Divinity) will be hosting a light-up costume-making workshop sometime next week.
  • Thanks Ben for dinner (Swedish Meatballs)!
