  • Charles - Looking for above ground portable pool (15 ft diameter and hold water, 1-2 ft tall)
    • How to make circuit boards with the CNC router
  • Terry - Hardwood boards: cherry, walnut, maple, oak, etc.

    • Spindle & bit are very delicate. Get together with Gerrit and Chris P. for use

  • The quickest way to get something fixed is to let us know that it is broken! Send broken equipment reports to broken@lvl1.org
    • This includes supplies like drill bitses and soap!

      • Help LVL1 repair broken equipment & learn the equipment from the inside out

    • Learn-a-Thing Workshops (Tuesday 6pm)
      • Learn how to use a tool at LVL1 before the meeting (informal setting; great for first-timers!)

    • LVL1 Open Meeting & Making (Tuesday 8pm)
  • WEDNESDAY
    • MakerEd Educators MeetUp (1st Wed of the Month 8/5 @ 7pm)
  • THURSDAY
    • Tiny House Meeting - Random Thursdays @ 7 PM, next 7/23
      • Help build a tiny house and teach the community home improvement skills
      • Tiny House Meetings suspended until later notice.
    • Sewing Night - 3rd Thursday - 8/20
      • Bring a project, learn to sew!
    • Drone Meetup - 4th Thursday - 7/23 @ 8 PM
      • Talk shop, fix your drone, and take flight!

Project Roll Call

  • Jared is hacking together a series of adapters from HDMI to RCA
  • Charles has been working on 4 different projects for Detroit
    • LED Cube with hot swapable keys to change the animations
  • Jason needed to make a projection mapping item on the cheap
    • Found an LED projector that fits the bill on Amazon, 800 lumens
  • Dan has two announcements
    • Building a very large shopbot - 8' x 4' trying to get it done for Louisville Mini Maker Faire
    • Was contracted to build a Tiny House
  • Keith is resurrecting a music synthesizer he made in 1979
    • Powered it on and didn't smoke!
  • Gary wrote a script that reads from a barcode scanner and looks up the book on an ISBN site
    • Barcode scanner that was encrypted ("QCat" from Radioshack?)
    • Script appends the info from a file and catalogs the books
  • Gary's second project: added features to the rotating phone dial keyboard
    • Made the most hipster texting device ever made
  • Brian and Patrick brought in color blind glasses
