Board Meeting Minutes February 21, 2023; Called to order at 9:05 p.m.

Board Present: Andy, Kevin F., Tiffany, Raj, Charles, Bill Also present: Daniel J., “Derby Py” Mel, other members/non-members in the main room

Mel discussed Derby Py meetups, wanting LVL1 to be their “clubhouse”; would like some hospitality, if okay, coffee, etc., and a little bit of space somewhere so he can store things here and not have to carry them back & forth every time. He can use part of the lateral file cabinet or the small fireproof cabinet donated by Jeff McCord or we can come up with another cabinet that works for Mel. Was also discussed that if Mel needs some type of supplies for his meetups (coffee & goods, office supplies, etc.), that the expense would fall under regular supplies as opposed to monthly event budget.

Workshops: We’ve had two embroidery workshops, the 8080 computer build workshop, Derby City Py had 31 people in their January meeting, two Pi Pico Micropython workshops and an Intro to Microcontrollers & Arduinos workshop.

We had 27 people at the regular meeting tonight and 4 present via Zoom. We’ve signed up 3 new members this month, and two Makership members in January.

Notes from the treasurer: We tried going to Google Meets, but couldn’t record so that didn’t work out. We need the ability to record meetings this year because our secretary needs that for when he has surgery, i.e. this month. Next month we will pay off Pike13 fee for the year and save 15%. Daniel asked about why the financial report doesn’t reflect the Eventbrite money coming in and going back out, and line items for 3D filament income. Mentioned that the financial reports are inaccurate and that it needs to be fixed. Raj reiterated that Daniel is correct, from a corporate governance standpoint, that we need to get switched over to QB and away from these homemade, inaccurate snapshots. The FAP for the couch passed; the couch is amazing; it has 3 recliners. It will last for a while. Please help us take care of it. Maybe some people could come in and assist Mel with the Derby City Py meetings; 31 people is a lot to handle alone; someone to help him prepare would be a good thing. It’s extraordinary that we’re doing a good job of getting LVL1 back into functioning shape, with signing up new members and getting the Makership back up and running! Meeting adjourned at 9:31.
