2019 Shapeoko 2 Refurbishment

In 2016, the Shapeoko 2 at LVL1 reached a level of disrepair that could not be ignored. Although an attempt was made to inspect the device and prepare it for repair and refurbishment, the device was abandon. Parts were stripped from the device for other devices. Attempts to convert the device into something else were later initiated. Those attempts were also abandon.
In 2019, the Shapeoko 2 at LVL1 was just another incomplete and languishing project. The Truly Mad Scientists LVL1 Splinter Group decided to step-in and refurbish the device . What follows are the ideas and actions undertaken.
This project would have two basic goals: Return the Shapeoko device to operational condition Provide a GRBL based controller.
