LVL1 Board Meeting, via Zoom

attending: Charles The Hat, Danielle, Jim, Tif, Raj, Madeline, Jose

begin 9:05 pm

Charles: Finance and member report. Jim.

Jim: Okay. I didn't have time to figure out how to put stuff on the screen.

[Discussion about screen sharing on Zoom.]

Jim: Having trouble finding my copy of the financials. I open August -- oh, I see; there we go; found it. Sheet one, in August. The utilities are 495.65; we already have next month, 429.20. We'll see how it goes for the winter, our amazing installation and tape job in the boneyard, some of the tape is coming loose and we may need to replace it or to tape it up. And I want to get the classroom done maybe, before winter. After September, we'll be 382 to the good on utilities. Rent stayed the same; it didn't change. Vcarve is up and running; we've got MeetUp app; and Flickr which I've added into this column instead of PayPal column. Insurance is 134.48 for the rest of the year. Credit card processing is 127.91. We had two reimbursements to people through PayPal. We had 8 people pay through PayPal. Pike13 still 149. So, 8 people in paypal at 1.40 is 11.20. Sheet two is the big kauna, we've got the income, the expenses and we came out 861 to the good. Our checking balance is still to the good and these three CDs I bought are increasing in value. They just rolled over so we'll have them for another year. PayPal has 1,100 in it; we've got all the dues for this month accumulated, so I'll move some of that over to checking. That gives us total funds of 45,692. Our makership keeps rolling on even though we can't currently have any makers. Maybe once we get back up, we can begin handing those out.

We've still got the hat grant and the SBA grant and our reserve is the emergency fund. I've squirreled away approximately the same amount; that gives us a total of encumbered funds of [inaudible].

My calculation is that we are at about 75 members.

Joe: What's our threshold for when we're going to have an issue?

Jim: I think it's 68 before the budget blows up. If we go below that, the budget is void. Other than that, we're in good shape. The emergency fund will last us 3 1/2 months, and the reserve would get us another 4 months; I think we're in good shape for almost a year, and that's with no dues coming in. Last time, Charles mentioned we should beef up the emergency fund. In a couple days, I'll FAP for putting another $6,000 in there.

Charles: I think $6,000 is reasonable, and we could say to the membership that we haven't had a lot of expenses during Covid and we could earn some more interest.

[Discussion regarding Covid vaccination efficacy and obtaining flu shots.]

Jim: And I'll FAP for the emergency fund.

Charles: I'll chime in so there are multiple voices.

[Discussion regarding doctors visits and health between Jim and Danielle about her upcoming brain surgery and his improving health.]

[Discussion about the FAP.]

Charles: Jim will post a FAP this Friday for $6,000 for replenishing emergency funds, and will be there echoing that this is a good thing that we should do and that everybody needs to vote for it.

Tiffany: And Jim will remember to vote +1 for his own FAP.

Charles: Is that it for finance and member report?

Jim: That's it on the money.

Charles: Next up is Covid-19. Danielle, are you doing that this week?

Danielle: Yes. I made my trip to the space. It was in reasonable shape. There are enough masks. There are two new boxes of 50 unopened and one opened box. Unless you have more?

Jim: I dropped off 5 boxes today. I was down there about 4:00. Tell Kevin I dropped off the effects sensor for the shopbot.

Charles: Are we stocked up on cleaning supplies?

Danielle: We are stocked up. People --
