June 16, 2020 LVL1 board meeting, via Zoom

attendees: Charles, Danielle, Jim, Tiffany, Madeline, Raj, Paul G

begin at 9:05 pm

Danielle: Did anybody see the financial report and all of that? I didn't get any of that or see it posted to the members' list.

Charles: I'm looking at emails for attachments, but I don't see it.

Danielle: Did anybody throw together an agenda? I have a bunch of things to talk about.

Charles: There is only one thing that should officially be on the agenda, which is the email Kevin sent to the directors' list; and then, it's basically round table, so we can address things then. Except for the usual member and financial report, but Jim's not here, so we'll table that for now.

Tiffany: Oh, there's Jim.

[Discussion regarding the landlord's solvency and our assurance of stability at the Pointe, and that the landlords could have applied for the Covid business grant money, discussion of how it might affect LVL1 if the Pointe were sold; discussion that the landlords are probably solvent and comfortable and we shouldn't have a problem with this.]

Danielle: Brings us to my next concern -- do we want to cover financial before launching into more issues?

Charles: Let's do the member and financial report and then we can start with the milling machine and then anything else. So, Jim.

Jim: Yes. Let me email it to you-all real fast here.

[Discussion while waiting to receive the email, discussion regarding Jim's rescheduled surgery.]

[Jim does his discourse of the financials; will supply this soon.]

Jim: Have a question on the two situations we're facing. We talked about moving the mill; we'll need a FAP for that; and we talked about a FAP for a new welder.

[Discussion about the FAP for the welder; what type of welder; who's doing the mill; what solutions are being debated for the mill; that the pallet the mill is sitting on has rotted out and we can't get the pallet jack under it anymore, so we need something to hoist it up and replace the pallet with something that won't dissolve.]

[Discussion about the mill, that it should be sitting on the ground instead of a pallet, that we need to move the mill to get to the air conditioner when it is replaced; and that we need to be very careful to reseal around the air conditioner very well so that the metal shop stays as dry as it is now; that we've been squawking for them to seal it and they sealed it, so we can't go and damage it; discussion about using the stuff on TV to seal around the air conditioner, the tape or spray.]

[Discussion about the mill being on loan and that's why it's on the pallet, because a mill does not function best on a rickety pallet; discussion about the mill's origin and that we will probably continue to have it for a while.]

Danielle: It sounds like we really need an action plan for the metal shop here.

Jim: I think so. I would like at least permission to take it off the pallet. If they want to set it on something so we can move it, that's a different issue. Skip.

[Discussion regarding a FAP; moving the mill; mandate from the membership according to the terms laid out in the FAP. Discussion about lifting it off is a safety issue, not a FAP issue.]

[Discussion about an engine hoist.]

Danielle: If both air conditioners in the metal shop have stopped working, that needs to be fixed.

Jim: There is a sense of urgency to all of it, but the safety issue is way more important. Skip.

Charles: So do we want to go ahead and schedule that meeting?

Danielle: I am free every Tuesday and Wednesday, for sure. Does anybody want ot meet with me.

Charles: If it's Wednesday, then we don't hijack the regular meeting either because people do sometimes show up to that and talk for a while, usually it's Jose and Gary, but. . .

Jose: We actually do projects.

Danielle: But I think Wednesday would be a good day. Let's start with just the board, I think, and we can talk about the nitty gritty, behind-the-scenes, boring crap, like stuff that we might have to consider because it might fall back onto us personally. Skip.

Meeting adjourned, 10:52 pm
