Minutes

  1. Call to order at 8:00 pm with 13 members and 6 visitors
  2. Space upgrades
    1. New apple air is added to the media center. Adapter is on order to display video on the projector.
    2. Still looking for a vacuum pump for de-gassing plastic resin
  3. Volunteer projects
    1. Brad is looking for help and stuff to demo at the Derbycon Hardware village on September 30 - Oct 2. Maybe we could set up a mini hacker space.
  4. Bylaw amendment discussion by Jeff. He welcomes further conversation via the discussion board to try to finalize an amendment that will be submitted in the near future. Baring unforseen events, there will be an up or down vote next week. A final revision to the amendment is planned to be published by Thursday morning.
  5. Bryan discussed laser cutter survey. Clearly the survey supported purchase of the $2500 laser cutter. Donation button is now open for PayPal contributions. Alternatively, donors can give a check to Bryan that will be held until the purchase is ready.
  6. KYOSS next meeting is 5/11, Topic is verson mgmt systems and more.
  7. Hot and spicy fest will be 5/21. Pot luck buffet. The hotter food the better.
  8. Grace announced the Ruby on Rails workshop in conjucntion with Louisville Digital Association on 5/12.
  9. Brad's LVL1 summer camp will be a 4 step concept to PCB to finished product. Major front runners are surface mount Arduino clone, breadboard Arduino clone, AT Tiny breakout board, AVR programmer and ATTiny processor, and a 4 channel 20Mhz logic analyzer. This will be every Saturday in June at LVL1 from 1 to 4 pm.
  10. Seeed studio is offering a free ticket to Detroit Maker Faire with $25 purchase.
  11. LVL1 first anniverary party will be Saturday 7/2. Open house with food.

    1. Chris C is working on site redesign within Word Press. Volunteers are welcome.
    2. Pat Mc donated a damaged Xbox drum kit, and lots of big wheels for bots.
    3. Brad is working on an 8 bit dev board. STM32 bit discovery board.
    4. Brad discussed issues with the WhiteStar antenna.
    5. Dan talked about his cat deterrent device.
