Certification Todos

Certification

Most tools in the space are open for LVL1 members and guests to use with either prior experience or limited instruction. Others will require more training from qualified individuals. This page will provide information on what training is available and how to arrange for certification.

Certification is intended to keep everyone safe - the machine and you!

Which tools require certification?

Eventually, the equipment page would list "CERTIFICATION REQUIRED" if needed. Suggestions from other spaces on certifications include:

  • CNC machines
  • Laser cutters
  • 3D Printers

Definitely not implying these desktops all need to be locked down like the ShopBot

Certification Process

  1. Contact
  2. Schedule
  3. Complete required sessions

What if I already have experience?

If you are already familiar with safe operation of certified equipment, please reach out to learn@lvl1.org to arrange for a proficiency test.

Do you offer training on non-certified equipment?

Come out to meeting night or open build / email learn@lvl1.org

ShopBot

This will move to the ShopBot tool page(?)

With links in the Manual-Certification section & in the equipment list?
