Join us to make a MotoPhoto motorized photo frame; The frame holds 20 4X6 photos and rotates to display them all!

What: Makerfaire Workshop – “MotoPhoto” Motorized Photo-Frame
When: Wednesday, 28 March 2018, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

What you need to bring: No Items are required for you to bring to the workshop.

You will need 20 4X6 photographs to customize your photo-frame. (Feel free to install the photographs at lvl1 or at home.)

You may also want a computer with the Arduino Interactive Development Environment (IDE) to customize the functionality of the frame. (If you don’t already have the IDE, download it here: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software Additionally, If you have never used the Arduino environment before, you might want to either install it to a laptop, and bring it with you to the workshop, or use one of the computers at lvl1 to play with the software)

What you get: One 20-picture Moto-Photo Frame.

More Specifically, these Kit Components:

  • Laser cut luaun wood
  • Laser cut photo panels
  • 3D printed gears and bushings
  • Arduino Nano
  • USB power supply with micro USB cable
  • Stepper motor with stepper motor driver


You do not need to be a member of LVL1 to attend this workshop. In fact, visitors are encouraged! If it is your first visit to our space, you will need to sign our waiver of liability. (This is standard procedure for all LVL1 activities.)
