  • Project Name: NFC A LA Mode (Near Field Communication for Android Legacy Applications Mode)
  • Submitter: User:JousterL
  • Reason: The Android Mobile Operating System has had NFC support built into it's libraries since 2.3 Gingerbread. However, none of the phones developed in that era or for the next year had hardware NFC chips built in, leaving these phones barren in the NFC radio-space. This project aims to rectify that, by providing an augmentation in the form of an Arduino board with an NFC shield.
  • Implementation:
MegaADK Arduino Board - [1]
Seeedstudio NFC Shield for Arduino - [2]
  • Estimated Cost: $100 for MegaADK + NFC Shield
