LVL1 is proud to be a public resource for technology and 'making' in Louisville, KY. Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. We are fixing this problem with LVL1's makership program!

A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

An RFID key for 24 hour access to LVL1.
Access to LVL1 equipment, such as our 3D Printers, laser cutters, welding equipment, woodshop, electronics tools and more.
Space at LVL1 to store a reasonable amount of equipment and materials.
Eligibility to vote on LVL1 membership votes, such as equipment purchases.
A Mentor from the LVL1 membership, to help navigate the LVL1 community and project milestones.

LVL1 is proud to be a public resource for technology and 'making' in Louisville, KY. Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. We are fixing this problem with LVL1's makership program!

A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

A Mentor from the LVL1 membership, to help navigate the LVL1 community and project milestones.

Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

LVL1 is proud to be a public resource for technology and 'making' in Louisville, KY. Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. We are fixing this problem with LVL1's makership program!

A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

An RFID key for 24 hour access to LVL1.

Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. We are fixing this problem with LVL1's makership program!

A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. We are fixing this problem with LVL1's makership program!

A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

Our space is accessible multiple times during the week to visitors, and our community is eager to share our skills and equipment. However, we recognize that there are members of our community who need full access to the space as members, but do not have the financial means to become full members of LVL1. We are fixing this problem with LVL1's makership program!

A Makership is a $100 project stipend and 3 months of LVL1 membership dues awarded to an individual in the Louisville area. We recognize that potential makers with limited financial resources often are unable to afford any membership rates- no matter what the discount might be. Similarly, the cost of materials to develop a cool project can be just out of reach to those strapped for cash. Our makership program seeks to eliminate these financial hurdles and get makers making!

We award our makerships to applicants who can put together the best pitch for (1) what they want to make and (2) how they plan to do it. Your project could be anything from an electronic gadget, to an open source software project, to a citizen science project, to a fire-breathing robotic pony, or (hopefully) a project we haven't imagined. We want LVL1 to be the place where these things are made! LVL1 makerships are open to anyone who could benefit from our community and resources to make something great.

An RFID key for 24 hour access to LVL1.

VP/CMO JamesM and Treasurer JimD continue to collaborate to confirm LVL1 membership. This is a trial reporting based on the August financial records:
* Pike13 shows 1 members made 1 overdue membership payment (1 x $65 = $65.00) against their overdue June invoice for membership.
* Pike13 shows 63 members made on-time membership payments (63 x $65 = $4,095.00) on their current August invoices for their August memberships.
* Pike13 shows 5 members had a combined 15 failed transactions (three each) attemting to pay assorted invoices with varying details.
* PayPal shows 5 members making membership payments via PayPal (5 x $65 = $325.00) during June.
* LVL1 had 1 makership member during August (Danika in her 3rd-of-3 months) .

== Treasurer Report ==
* LVL1 is showing increased good energy and August was another good month. Revenue is increasingly trending above budget. Expense is increasingly trending below budget. Net is increasingly favorable. We have NET funds for current purchases. ** August 2026 REVENUE totaled $4,771.62.
** August 2026 EXPENSE totaled ($3,469.97).
** August 2026 NET was cash POSITIVE at $1,301.65, and year-to-date we are cash positive at $7,688.68.

* Be aware that the Kentucky Colonel Grant will impact our financial picture in the coming months. Large expenditures have been made using LVL1 funds for new equipment that will be subsequently reimbursed by grant funds. Expect a net dip, then an equivalent net jump, with the impact ultimately being net neutral.

* The trial LVL1 RAMP.com account is working well to enable the Treasurer to create virtual credit cards that can be assigned to a specific purchase by a specific member as needed. It was used to facilitate procurement of the Kentucky Colonel grant equipment (two Bambu 3D printers, one Grizzly wood planer and one metal shop plasma torch). It's use is intended to become the new-and-improved financial process for upcoming FAPs.

* Your Treasurer is also pleased to share that LVL1 2026 IRS-990EZ filing was submitted online and accepted by the IRS on Sept. 11; well in advance of the extended no-penalty Nov. 15 due date. It is archived ([https://drive.google.com/file/d/1J4dZToKutXz0nupCA_FR5DB0i96prVc0/view?usp=sharing]) on [the Lvl 1 Directors] Drive.

*Unexpectedly, there is a new (somewhat complicated) issue to discuss regarding the timing of the annual rent increases in our signed lease. I am in communication with Raj and KevinC about how to approach Barrett regarding this. At risk of too much detail, this ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cXYA9AHVfZD_ptr_eNkdxAxYhOE0qZFExQi4-PpAkUE/edit?usp=sharing link]) charts the situation, summarized in the following bullets:
** There was an extended 19 month time period (January 2023 to September 2025) with no effective lease agreement in place.
** During that time period, LVL1 voluntarily made annual increases in our rent payments as a gesture of good faith, from $1,500 to $2,000, then to $2,200 per month.
** Raj, Jim, and Barrett negotiated the final signed 5-year lease to start on September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2030.
** At the signing, LVL1 was already voluntarily paying at the year two $2,200 monthly rate. The wording of the signed lease shows LVL1 could have dropped back to paying at the first year rate of $2,000 monthly rate (September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026), and then the year two $2,200 rate (September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027) with the year three rate of $2,420 being first due on September 1, 2027. LVL1 chose not to press that point.
** Now, one year later, Tasman has invoiced for our October 2026 payment to be at the increased year 3 rate of $2,420 per month.
**This increase to the year 3 rate at this time was not expected until October of 2027. What is our group's decision for what to do about this at this time; nothing(?) or something(?)
