Minutes - 3/29/2011

  • Call to order at 8:10 by Cprek
  • Treasurer's report: Apprx $1200 uncommitted funds
  • Old business: None
  • New business: None
  • New space upgrades
    • We do have a new microwave that is an order of magnituyde faster than the previous one.
    • Brad re-reviewed the used Oculus camera.
    • MicroColonel is looking for a reed switch for the rfid door sensor
    • Android game dev workshop last week had about 13 attendees. Expect to have more follow-up workshops.
    • Mark Verde is hosting a bio-diesel workshop here at LVL1 and is looking for help from people that can help design/build a prototype system.
    • LVL1 is likely to have about 10 entrants in the Hive13 sumobot contest.
    • The Pegasus parade will go down Broadway right in front of LVL1.
  • Project updates
    • Brad is working on a project to have an occupancy sensor to alert otehr members when the space is occupied.
    • Cprek has posted a video of his keyboard and is getting many hits.
    • Joe discussed his mechanical pony and is looking for other ideas about how to automate.
    • Cprek created a new word: "De-entropication" the act of removing randomness.
    • Dan updated us on the Whitestar balloon, and discussed the scrubbed launch which was attempted on March 24.
    • We are actively soliciting ideas on what members and guests would like to have included in our weekly meetings.
