Space Upgrades

  • Second electronics workstation built
  • Swapped electronic component shelves with LVL1 space supplies shelves
  • Installed power drop in wood shop
  • Received insulation donation from KSC
  • Central air compressor now operational

  • New acrylic cement (very poisonous!). Don't breathe the vapors or eat it...
  • SmartTV donation from Hackathon
    • Replaced CAD station monitors; old CAD station monitors installed in main room
  • Haxster has a new online community for hackerspaces to post their projects

Space Downgrades

  • New 3D printer, Tony Montana, requires lots of work & maintenance; stay tuned
  • Johnny 5 replacement board in. Replacement in progress
  • The quickest way to get something fixed is to let us know that it is broken! Send broken equipment reports to broken@lvl1.org
    • This includes supplies like drill bitses and soap!

Project Roll Call

  • Hack the Home Hackathon Recap
    • Bill P.'s team won third place with a project that watches Crockpots and allows the user to control the temperature remotely
    • Patrick, Ben, & Galen's son made locking doors for fridges, a bottle opener & cap collector on fridge handles, and a drill encoder to keep track of the number of rotations
    • Beverly worked on a team that made the hands free fridge; fridge opens up on touch when your hands are full
    • Herman was revolutionizing the microwave; made two smaller compartments for quicker cooking of two food items simultaneously
    • Weston's team put a sensor on a faucet that tells people when the faucet turns on
  • Divinity has promo codes for Lyft
    • Divinity also presents I, Divine Story - April 30; an art and technology exhibit
      • Submit your project to submissions.idivinestory.com and be eligible for a prize!
  • Monica from Hackster.io: place for makers to put their projects and show off
    • Looking to get hackerspaces involved; first to 20 projects get a prize!
